For the first time in the history of the Open Text Content Days business partners were honoured which were creative and successful in implementing Open Text solutions at customers.

In the category "most integrative partner" the partner was decorated which implemented most of Open Text Products on customers side.

In this category the prize was awarded to AXXEDO AG!

AXXEDO's exhibition at Computerwoche ECM Initiative 2010

Content Day 2009 in Düsseldorf :: AXXEDO gave a live presentation of the Open Text Invoice Capture Center for automatic invoice processing.

The interest among visitors for the solution was so considerable that not all visitors were able to be shown the solution on the presentation pillar. A follow-up is guaranteed…

The advantages of the Invoice Capture Center are:

  • Workflow - efficient, scalable workflow for automatic invoice data collection
  • Invoice types - processing of supplier invoices irrespective of the data quality and branch
  • Data extraction - automatic extraction of the invoice header and position data for more than 20 countries
  • Character recognition - best-of-class character recognition: OpenText Capture Recognition Engine
  • Data transfer - data results in XML format

The AXXEDO Document Allocation Module also raised lively interest. This module offers:

  • Allocation of scanned documents to almost all SAP documents
  • Allocation of a scanned documents to various SAP documents e.g. delivery note can be allocated to various goods-in receipts
  • Repeated reallocation of the original scanned document without a new barcode e.g. after changing the original with a stamp or signature
  • Safety barcode wirh a match code which describes the type of document, e.g. a delivery note can no longer be incorrectly filed as an invoice

Content Day 2009 in Düsseldorf :: Open Text focuses on development of the integration of Web 2.0

“Social media is the new content” – this is the phrase used to describe Open Text‘s compilation of all contents from Web 2.0 applications such as blogs and wikis or multimedia files such as podcasts and videos. These types of content present a big challenge for companies in the future. Due to the volume of data alone, such as in videos, these contents are difficult to control. Furthermore, social media contents in the field of business must be dealt with in the same way as other contents i.e. due to legal requirements.

The solution to this problem is a central repository in which contents from business applications such as SAP are administrated alongside social media contents. Open Text manages this development with the ECM-Suite under the code name "Bloom".

However, even with the right architecture, handling social media contents is still a balancing act for companies. It is difficult to find the right balance between the “wild and chaotic nature” of Web 2.0 and the regulations in the world of business. The problem of searching through video files and automatically classifying them is yet to be solved.

Companies will have to provide the respective technology when the digital natives, i.e. the twenty-somethings who are familiar with using Web 2.0, start entering the world of work.
